Sulfur Supplement Ingredients and Dosage
Dosage and Ingredients
Simple ingredients. Clear dosing. No guesswork.
Ingredients
Tarsul contains two ingredients:
Organic Cream of Tartar
Also known as: Potassium bitartrate, potassium hydrogen tartrate
Source: A natural byproduct of wine fermentation, purified to food grade
Key benefits: Rich natural source of potassium. A natural dietary source of potassium, a mineral involved in normal fluid balance, muscle contraction, and cellular energy metabolism.
Organic MSM Sulfur
Also known as: Methylsulfonylmethane, dimethyl sulfone
Source: Derived from DMSO, a naturally occurring organic sulfur compound
Key benefits: Supports glutathione production, collagen synthesis, gut lining integrity, joint health, skin health, and detoxification.
No fillers. No binders. No additives. Just two food-grade, organic ingredients.
Dosage
1 teaspoon mixed in 8 oz of water, taken once daily. Best taken in the morning on an empty stomach.
One Serving, Not a Protocol
People often ask whether they should take more for one reason and less for another. The honest answer is that we do not publish condition-specific dosing, and we have taken down the table that used to sit here.
There are two reasons. The first is legal: Tarsul is a dietary supplement, not a medicine, and matching a serving size to a named condition is something only a licensed practitioner can responsibly do for an individual. The second is practical. One teaspoon daily is what the label says, it is what the overwhelming majority of long-term customers take, and we have never had good evidence that stacking more of it produces a better result.
Use the label on your bottle as the primary guide.
If you are wondering whether a different amount makes sense for your situation, that is a question for your doctor or pharmacist — particularly if you take a prescription that affects potassium, or have been told to watch your mineral intake. Our fuller dosage and precautions page covers this in detail.
How to Take Tarsul
Mix one teaspoon of Tarsul powder in 8 ounces of water. Stir until dissolved. Drink immediately. The taste is mildly tart β similar to lemonade without the sweetness. Most people find it pleasant or at least easy to get down.
You can also mix Tarsul into juice, a smoothie, or any cold beverage. Avoid mixing with hot liquids, as heat can affect the potency of the MSM sulfur.
Safety and Precautions
Tarsul is a food-grade supplement made from two natural ingredients. It is generally well-tolerated. However:
- Kidney disease: If you have kidney disease or are on a potassium-restricted diet, consult your doctor before taking Tarsul. Potassium supplementation requires monitoring in kidney disease.
- Potassium-sparing diuretics: If you take potassium-sparing diuretics (spironolactone, triamterene, amiloride), consult your doctor before taking Tarsul.
- ACE inhibitors: Some ACE inhibitors can raise potassium levels. If you take ACE inhibitors, consult your doctor before adding potassium supplementation.
- Pregnancy: Consult your healthcare provider before taking any supplement during pregnancy.
If you experience any adverse effects, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider.
